Come Celebrate National Honey Bee Day - Saturday, August 18, 2018
The 6th Annual Tour de Hives is a public event hosted by the Bee Friendly Foundation & the Hays County Beekeepers Association!
Calling all ARTISTS!
We want to FEATURE YOU at this year's 6th Annual Tour de Hives event! We are going to put a little different 'spin' on the event by having a PUBLIC ART COMPETITION! We are giving you LOTS of advance notice so you can take your time and really do it BIG! You will PAINT/DESIGN/ETC a beehive, it will be entered into the competition, which will feature an ART WALK TOUR! There WILL be prizes, fame, and recognition for the winners!!! 🙂
- Saturday, June 2 @ 5pm-7pm at Vista Brewing during HCBA’s “Chat With The Beekeepers”
- Monday, June 04 @ 7pm-9pm at Zilker Botanical Gardens during TCBA meeting
- Sunday, June 17 @ 1pm-5pm (Father's Day) during Bee Friendly Open House
- Monday, June 18 @ 7pm-9pm at the Frank Fickett Scouting Center during the AABA meeting
- Wednesday, June 20 @ 7pm-9pm at Vista during the next HCBA meeting

Everyone who attends the event will receive 3 Tickets (VOTES) which they will use to VOTE on their favorite ART HIVE. They can put all the tix on just 1 hive, or split them up, however they decide to vote. After the voting is completed, all hives will be raffled in a silent auction with proceeds going to fund bee education and research in Texas!
There will also be plenty of activities happening throughout the day as well. We will have guest speakers presenting on various bee helpful topics all day long in our air-conditioned classroom! Live bees everywhere, this is a working apiary! Honey & Mead tasting! Vendors with fun hive related things for sale! A silent auction and raffles. Honey Queens and Princesses to meet and so much more!

This event is a yearly fundraiser with proceeds dedicated to helping bees, beekeepers, public education, and bee research. Please make checks or donations payable to Bee Friendly Foundation. Bee Friendly Foundation was founded in 2013 and exists to increase public awareness of the value of bees, to promote the humane treatment of bees, to educate beekeepers, encourage good bee management practices and good relations between beekeepers and the public, and to support scientific education and research. Bee Friendly Foundation is a non-profit organization 501(c)(3) dedicated to helping the honey bees, improving beekeeper education, and funding bee research.
